The Game of Telephone

The Game of Telephone

Remember playing telephone as a kid?

Someone whispers, "I really love you" into the first person's ear. They pass it along. And by the time it reaches the end of the line, the last kid is shouting, "I EAT GLOVES AND GLUE!"

And everyone falls over laughing.

It's funny in a game. But here's the thing: your body plays telephone every single second of every single day.

Your Very Important Telephone Game

Your brain is the first kid in line. It whispers messages down your spinal cord, through your nerves, to every cell, organ, and tissue in your body:

  • "OK heart, keep beating."
  • "Stomach, time to digest lunch."
  • "Immune system, we've got a bug to fight."
  • "Muscles, let's stand up straight."

And that message shouldn't change. It should arrive exactly as it was sent—clear, precise, and perfect.

But what if there's a problem in the line?

Subluxations Are the Garbled Whisper

A vertebral subluxation is a bone in your spine that's shifted just enough to interfere with those messages. It's like a bunch of rowdy kids in the middle of the line, whispering the wrong thing.

Not all the messages get garbled. Just a few. But the cells at the end of the line aren't getting the right message anymore.

Your heart gets the message, but it's a little fuzzy.

Your stomach gets the message, but it's a little off.

Your immune system gets the message, but it's a little late.

And those cells? They don't know what to do. It's like they're hearing "I eat gloves and glue" instead of "I really love you."

The Sneaky Part

Here's what makes subluxations so tricky: most of the time, you don't feel them.

Only about 10–15% of your nerves are wired for pain. The other 85% quietly run your organs, glands, digestion, immune system, and mood—without sending you a single text message.

So you might feel "fine." But your body's telephone game might be a total mess.

Not because anything is broken. Not because you did anything wrong. Just because a few bones got shifted and started interfering with the messages.

Let the Right Message Through

That's where chiropractic comes in.

I don't treat conditions. I don't chase symptoms. I check your spine for vertebral subluxations—the rowdy kids messing up the message—and I gently correct them.

When the bones are back in proper alignment, the messages flow clearly again. Your brain says "I love you" and your cells actually hear "I love you."

Not "gloves and glue."

So Let Chet Play... So Get Checked Today

If your body's telephone game is a little garbled, now's the perfect time to start playing again.
